Hi I'm Elizabeth

I am from Virginia, I am serving a mission in Vina del Mar, Chile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 and just finished my first year at BYU-Idaho studying Human Biology on a pre-medical tract. I am the second oldest of 8 kids and have a crazy family dynamic. I am into music and have played the flute for 8 years. I am called to serve a mission to Vina del Mar, Chile and report November 15th 2016. I love to read and to be with family and almost anything outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I chose to be, this is the truth and I was able to find that for myself. I grew up a member in a strong family of faith however slowly that changed throughout my early teenage years and by 14 years old I had to make the choice of whether I wanted to continue to participate in this Gospel and find my own testimony or leave with the rest of my family. I made that choice that day to read the Book of Mormon all of the way through so I could know for myself whether it was truth or not. This is something I had never done before and as I read I got the confirmation that I knew that this Gospel was truth. I made the choice that no matter how difficult it was going to be, I was willing to stand alone because I knew that the Savior is right beside of me providing me with strength. Since that time I am still the sole member of the Church in my family but I do not feel alone. I have a church family that reaches out to me along with the Savior who always is there for me. I know that this Gospel is truth and I know that it helps me to become a better person and disciple of Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it is in full. I know we have a living Prophet and I love him dearly and I am so grateful for what being a member of this Church has blessed me with.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Nursery leader in my ward however before this I was the president over the women in my ward at college, I am also currently serving as a ward missionary. I am an active participant in church as well as many extracurricular callings that I can volunteer my time towards.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Elizabeth
Because I am planning to serve a mission I think that I have a reasonable answer, Missionaries when they come to visit are not trying to sell you anything and really are not there for themselves at all. Missionaries are there because they have this amazing thing that they cannot not share. The Gospel is so beneficial in their lives, as well as the members, but they dedicate all of their time to it. Once you allow them to come in the can share either a brief or full message but both of these will talk about our loving Savior Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice so that we have the opportunity to return to live with Heavenly Father. All messages that are provided by missionaries are shared as a message of hope and are uplifting and can provide peace and comfort in your life. Show more Show less
