Hi I'm Natalie

I grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Utah. I will live in Sendai, Japan for 18 months as an LDS Missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing soccer and love music. I played the flute at Moanalua High School in Hawaii and at American Fork High School in Utah. I am attending Brigham Young University and played the flute in care homes for senior citizens. I am leaving for 18 months to go to Sendai, Japan to serve an LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Aiea, Hawaii which is on the island of Oahu. On this side of the island there were not a lot of members. At Moanalua High School, there were as few as 2 or 3 members in my grade level. Even though I was born into the gospel, I had to gain my own testimony that this is the true church and stand strong in my beliefs even if it meant standing alone. As I read the Book of Mormon everyday, went to church each week, and followed the commandments I came to know for myself that this is the true church and it is one that brings happiness. When I first moved to Utah, I had a difficult time transitioning from Hawaii. One cold winter night, I sat on the hard basement floor reading the Book of Mormon. I did as my bishop there had asked and consistently read the Book of Mormon everyday. However, this night was different. I do not remember what chapter it was or if it had anything to do with my situation that but I do remember how I felt. An overwhelming sense of love and peace overcame me and I knew that the Book of Mormon had power that could not be from man. I smiled and said a prayer thanking Heavenly Father for this special book and the counsel of my bishop. I know that this is the true church. I know that Heavenly Father loves each one of His children individually and personally. I know the Book of Mormon is true and it's teachings will bring you nearer to God. I am so grateful to be a member of this church.

How I live my faith

My most recent calling was a nursery worker for the Sunset Hills Second Ward. I enjoyed working with the most precious children! I was surprised to receive that calling as I didn't expect it but I found myself looking forward to it every week. Little children are very special and I really grew to love them. I am the youngest sibling in my family and so it was a growing experience!
