Hi I'm Savannah

I grew up in a small town and am now preparing to serving in the Argentina Buenos Aires East mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am preparing for a mission. I plan on attending college when I return home. I competed in volleyball, basketball, swim and dive, track and field, and flag football.

Why I am a Mormon

I was an inactive member for a long time. I'm not too proud of that. I realized that not attending church, not praying, and studying daily was not the best way to live. It definitely was not the way to try to see if the church is true or not. Living the gospel more than ever is what builds a testimony and faith in His church. I was blessed to have good friends find me and invite me back to church. I love this gospel so much. I know that it is true. No matter the trial, the heartache, or pain, He knows how each of us feels. He loves and knows us personally and individually. The atonement of Jesus Christ is real and true, I have used it all of my life. I know the scriptures are the word of God, given and to us so we can have guidance and help. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore His work again on Earth. I know the power of prayer is real. He hears us and wants to help us as much as He can because He loves us. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I have held several callings in Young Women's and in Stake Council throughout my activity in the church. I help those who are called to teach classes by joining in on or preparing the discussions.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Savannah
Not all Mormons are required to serve. It is all a voluntary act by all those who serve. Missionaries even pay to be able to go and teach and help the church grow. Young men are strongly encouraged to serve missions. The men can go when they are 18 years old and serve for two years. Young women can serve if they have a desire to do so. The women can go when they are 19 years old and will serve for eighteen months. Senior citizens can also serve once they have retired if they wish to do so. Doctrine and Covenants 4:3 states, "Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work." Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Savannah
There is always something new to learn about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. If it was not for our Savior, we would not beat the two inevitable things in life; death and sin. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane on our behalf so we can have a chance to be cleansed from sin if we seek and ask for it, which is repentance. As for death, after He suffered for each of us, He was crucified, and died so we may have the blessing of living again and being with our families. Once Christ rose on the third day after His death, He broke the chains of death, allowing us to make it to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
