Hi I'm Jessica

I love the gospel. I am a nursing student. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am from the Seattle area, but was born in Utah. I love to help others and am currently studying to become a registered nurse. I love to sing, dance, read, and watching movies. I love to spend time with my friends and family, traveling, and camping. I enjoy taking pictures of the beautiful scenery that is the Pacific North West and am in constant awe of Heavenly Father's creations.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into a family of members and was raised in the church and it's teachings, I wasn't actively invested myself until a few years ago. I decided to take a challenge that a church leader had extended to me; read the Book of Mormon and then pray and ask God whether or not it was true. It sounded silly to me, to read a book and then to pray about it, but I decided to humor this leader and try it anyways. When I had finished the book, I hadn't any real strong impressions expect that when I pray, it should be on my knees. When I had finished the prayer, I felt a peace that I hadn't ever felt before. It wasn't much, just a calm and peaceful feeling, but in a time in my life where everything was chaotic and crazy, that little bit of peace was exactly what I needed. It made me realize that God knows me, even by name and loves me and wants the best for me. I know that God lives, that he isn't something made-up, I know that he is my Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that he too, loves me. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book and another testament of Christ. I know that it was written for us in our time, that we would have a way to know our Savior and God better, to understand their love for us more fully. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I work hard on making a conscious effort every day to recognize God's hand in my life. Everything from the colors of a sunrise to being able to remember where I last put my keys reminds me that He's there and is aware of me and my existence. I attend my church meetings and activities and remember to have my daily prayer and scripture study to bring my focus on my Savior and his love for me.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jessica
We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by trying to become more like him. We can follow Heavenly Father's commandments, be baptized, use his atonement, follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost, and endure the end. Show more Show less
