Hi I'm Erinn

I am a convert to the church. I am a BYU student. I am a wife. I am a daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student with a passion for singing and all things music. I am a Family Studies major and one day hope to be able to help others by being a Marriage and Family Therapist. Family is such an important thing and I want to be able to help others strengthen their families. I am also a convert to the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because luckily the Spirit and my friends were always persistent but patient. My friends in high school were the best member missionaries (even though I didn't know it at the time). They were always open about their faith and invited me to attend church and church activities with them. I always told them I would never join the church, and boy am I glad that I was wrong about that. After going to one of my best friends missionary farewell talks, I had a prompting that didn't just whisper to me, it yelled at me. I felt that I needed to read the Book of Mormon and sincerely find out that it was true. I had read parts of it in the past but I never read it with good intentions. I couldn't stop reading once I picked it up this time. I read the whole thing, cover to cover, in just two weeks. After reading, I had gained a testimony of it's truthfulness. A short while later I finally had the courage to contact the missionaries, with the help of my friends of course. Just three weeks after my first meeting with the missionaries, I was baptized. While the choice to be baptized was easy, my life since being baptized hasn't been. At first my family wasn't very supportive of my decision, but as time has gone on they have come to accept my choice. Shortly after getting baptized I met the man who would later become my husband. That is my conversion story, but aside from my testimony of the Book of Mormon, that wasn't really much information on why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because families can be together forever. Because I have experienced the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore Christ's church on the Earth. I am a Mormon because I have heard the words of living prophets and have had the Holy Ghost. I am a Mormon because I have experienced life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ and nothing can compare to the joy of the Gospel and the joy that Jesus Christ brings.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church and talking with others about the Gospel. Being a convert, most members of the church like to hear how I joined the church and I love sharing it because it is a personal testimony of what power member missionaries can have without even meaning to. I also love working with the missionaries to help other people curious about the church to know that I was like them and show them what they can become. I have even had a couple of pen pals investigating the church that I share my experiences with as well as spiritual thoughts and impressions I have had that could apply to their situations. The true joy of the Gospel comes from sharing it with others. I also live my faith by trying to learn everything I can from the scriptures. I have been able to take religion classes from various Church programs and taking those classes along with my own scripture study has helped me to be able to learn more about the Gospel so that I can not only enrich my life but also the lives of those around me. Although I don't have children know, I want to be able to help them learn about the Gospel. In order to do that, I myself have to live my faith and always continue to learn and grow in the Gospel.
