Hi I'm Jake Headman

I grew up in the church. Then shunned the church. And now I have found my may back. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20 year old who grew up both in Florida as well as Illinois then eventually moved to Idaho. I love the outdoors, extreme sports, learning and experiencing new things. Through high school I sang in a choir, participated in football, cross-country, track and field, and other extra curricular activities. I am the 2nd oldest of 6 kids and love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

At first I didn't choose the LDS church, rather I was born into it. Then as I grew I found that I started falling away. My friends were doing things that I we were taught weren't right or contrary to the commandments of God. At times I felt that I knew why those things were bad but then towards my senior year in high school things became very confusing for me. I lost my testimony and started falling away and not caring about the church. As I went out to college I tried to figure out and work out my issues with the church and I got really close. But then I lost it all. I was into drugs, alcohol, immoral acts, and other things that are contrary to the all things I believed to be right. Through a lots of personal review I started to learn the things that I really I wanted in my life. Some of the things that made me happy. Some of these are: my family and how happy they make me and how I was raised to be a good person, I want a happy marriage where we are able to love each other and have it be a positive relationship, I want to be happy. I finally came to realize that the gospel was the absolute best way for me to achieve these goals of mine and so I decided to jump back into the gospel 100%. Currently I am working my way back, one day at a time and it's been long time since I have been this happy!

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by going to church on Sundays, doing my best to study the scriptures, having conversations with friends about the gospel and doing my best to be a good person.
