Hi I'm Marissa Mayer

I grew up in Utah. I belong to an amazing family of 5 and have wonderful friends. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the LDS church in Phoenix Arizona (Oct 2016-Apr 2018) I love music. I sing classical music and have sung in many choirs, I have played piano since I was 8 and have also taught myself the ukulele. I also love tennis, western swing dancing, cooking and being with my incredible friends. I have attended school at Snow College and plan to attend another University (Possibly Utah State University) after I receive my associates degree. I come from a family of five with two younger brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, but it is a decision I have made for myself. I have always felt an amazing peace from attending church, studying the bible and book of Mormon, praying to my Father in Heaven, and attending the temple. When I was about 8 years old I decided that I wanted to serve as a missionary for the church because it was the one thing that brought me the most happiness in my life, and I wanted other people to feel that too! That desire has never changed. I truly could not imagine my life without the gospel. It is the one piece of truth that I can hold on to in this crazy world. Although the members of the church are not perfect, the gospel is. And I love it.

How I live my faith

I read from the Book of Mormon every single day, and I love it! I receive so much strength and peace from it. I attend my church meetings weekly and sometimes participate in teaching other members of my ward. I try to attend the temple as often as I can, and strive to stay worthy of those blessings. My family has scripture study and family prayer every morning before we all go about our day. We also have Family Home Evening, where we each take turns teaching lessons about the gospel.
