Hi I'm Neil

I'm a Filipino living on the most beautiful island in the world, Palawan. I'm a Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

I am a joyful person. I love dancing, singing, playing sports and computer games. I am a Civil Engineer and love making blueprints and surveying works.

Why I am a Mormon

Just like any other child of record individual in the church, I grew up going to church because of my mother. Cartoons on Sundays are the best in the Philippines when I was young so I really dont like going to church but when I reached the age of 8 and the missionaries taught me to be baptized, I definitely knew what they were teaching me because I learned it on our Primary classes. As time goes by, growing in the church has become my joy. With friends, I learned to love to be in the church than go out with my friends in school. I hangout with my friends in school or in my neighborhood, playing basketball and computer games with them but still I can feel more joy when I am with my friend of the same standard as I. As I got older, I was called to serve for the Young Men of the church, attending trainings and activities on how to lead in the church, organizing activities that will help my fellow youth and so many things. I felt the joy in serving, even if we dont get paid with it, I can see Heavenly Father happy for what I am doing. Of course since I grew up in the church, there is also a time of a real question in mind. Is this the real church? I know God is there, Heavenly Father exist, but is this the church Jesus Christ organized? As I ponder this question, I was inspired when in one activity I attended, an instruction was made for us, it is to ask God if the Book of Mormon is true, if Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint is the true church upon the face of the earth. This questions is what investigators pray for when missionaries come to teach them and I never done it, I grew up in the church. After that activity I read the Book of Mormon, prayed and asked Heavenly Father of those things. An angel never appeared to me, neither miracle of my life being saved did happened but one thing was certain that time, that never in my life I felt more calm. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I spent half of my life serving in the church specially the youth. I love seeing them grom to fine and handsome gospel-oriented persons. I also served on various callings like being a Branch Mission Leader. I love attending to church activities. When I was a youth, I never missed to join our annual Youth Conference. I would say that I learned and grew a lot as a person in the church that in the school or any other institution. I love being in the sound system committee of any activity.
