Hi I'm Tanner Harvey

I am from the Western US. I served humanitarian trips in Mexico and Fiji. I hope to teach special education someday. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in San Jose, California and am serving a Spanish speaking mission in Houston, Texas. I'm a former college softball player and have graduated from my first two years of college. I have three sisters and a beautiful old beagle dog. I've worked in a physical therapy clinic and as an elementary school assistant teacher. I have also volunteered with the San Francisco 49ers for about 10 years at a football camp for athletes with Down Syndrome. Some of my hobbies are sports, reading, anything music related, surfing, watching football, learning, spending time with family, and creating new things. I also love to serve others and my dream is to one day create a nonprofit organization in some capacity to help those in need. Fun fact: I hate wearing shoes, so I am almost always barefoot.

Why I am a Mormon

I have never felt more peace and freedom in my life than when I aligned myself with the doctrine and principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In times of darkness and confusion, I know I can call on the love of the Prophet and Apostles, cry unto God in humble prayer, and study the testimonies and lives of those who have come before me in the scriptures to help me back up. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me regardless of my mistakes and shortcomings, and as I ever choose to turn from sin and come unto Him, I know I can be lifted up at the last day to a fullness of joy and exaltation. Because of the merciful Plan of Salvation, I can be with my family in heaven for time and all eternity. With this faith, I will rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and do my very best to qualify for the Kingdom of God. This church is true and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I spend most of my time at church working with the children. They are my sunshine and hope for the future. I also attend the temple regularly and engage in family history work often. I am learning to play church hymns on the piano and love to sing in my church choir. My family and friends engage in service to our local community as well as those in places all around the world. I do my best to fellowship and love my neighbors, offering support always, and helping hands when necessary.
