Hi I'm Alyssa Luke

I grew up surrounded by the mountains of Utah. I am an adventure enthusiast. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. Snowboarding is a big passion of mine. I grew up playing sports, and lacrosse became one of my favorites. I played it throughout most of high school, and a little bit into college. I am attending a university and I plan

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for my whole life. But when I was younger, around the age of elementary school and middle school, my family was less active and so I started becoming that way as well. But, I had people reaching out to me and I saw that they had something special about them that only the gospel could bring and so because of them I started going to church more often, sometimes by myself but most of the time with my twin sister. Ever since, I have remained active in the Church because it has shaped me into the person I am today and has become apart of me. I have a purpose in life that helps get me through challenges. I am able to recognize Heavenly help because of the Gospel. It has blessed my life so very much.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my actions. I try my best to be kind to people and help out as much as I can because that is a huge part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it is what I believe in so I try to live by it. I also try to be involved as much as possible with church activities because they are there to help refresh my perspective on what is truly important.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We are here on earth to grow and develop to become like Heavenly Father. He loves us so much that He wants us to be like Him. To do that, we need to suffer and be tempted so we can learn how to overcome those things, and also learn how to rely on Heavenly Father. He is here for us every step of the way, but it is up to us if we push Him to the background or allow Him to guide us through life. He gave us agency, so how can we expect God to be part of our life if we don't go looking for Him? Show more Show less
