Hi I'm Eileen

I have lived in Utah all my life. I am married. We have 4 grown children and 11 exceptional grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There is not much exceptional about my life, yet it has been a good one because of my belief in the love of our Heavenly Father and the angels (friends, neighbors) He has sent to bless my life. The most important blessing has been my marriage to my husband for the last 43 years and the 4 children we were given to raise. I wake up every morning grateful to have eyes to see this beautiful world. I love to go walking in the mornings when it is quiet. I love to read books. I love our garden that produces good food for our dinner table--especially tomatoes! My husband and I love to travel. Not to far off countries, just here in the United States. Planning trips is part of the fun. Gathering with our children, their spouses and our grandkids is the best!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ my whole life. I am grateful to my parents for that blessing. I marvel at others who have listened to the Gospel and decided to join the Church. Would I have been so faithful? The Gospel is my anchor. Because of the Church I have a sure knowledge that we are children of our Heavenly Father who loves us all. I know that Jesus Christ is His only begotten son and that the Savior lived and suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane. I cannot express how blessed we are because of that gift that only he could give. I know we have a prophet who directs the work of salvation here on the earth and that is President Thomas S. Monson. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the Restoration of the true church to the earth. In his young life he accomplished so much and suffered so much because he knew and was guided by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love the Book of Mormon as another testament of Jesus Christ and try to follow the examples of faithful people that I read about in its pages. We believe that temples are sacred places for us to go and commune with the Holy Spirit and partake in holy ordinances. I love to attend the temple each week. It keeps me on the right path and feeds the faith and hope I have that this life is just a part of Heavenly Father's plan for us. This life is the "testing" part and we must love and do the best we can while we are here.

How I live my faith

I think the best way I live my faith is by visiting the members of our ward and both those who meet regularly on Sundays and those who do not. Learning how to love others is most important to me. Listening to their life stories and trying to help them see how much happiness comes from knowing our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ, our Savior. Music has been an important calling for me. I am a pianist and organist and have used this talent all my life.
