Hi I'm Harvey

Born in Illinois. Subsequently lived in California and Utah. Not active in the church for the first 28 years in my life.

About Me

I am 77 years old and never was planning to serve a mission until very recently. I thought that my weekly service in the Temple and Family History Center would suffice. My wife convinced me that we could contribute more by serving a mission. We are parents of 3 children. Our son is a physician. Our oldest daughter is an attorney and currently a stay at home mom. Our youngest daughter is an editor and is currently going back to school to get another degree. I graduated many years ago with a Master's Degree in accounting and worked for a major oil company for 30 years before retiring at at age 60. I have filled my time since then with the above mentioned activities plus family activities with my 3 children and 8 grandchildren. My wife and I are looking forward to getting out of our comfort zones and serving a full time mission. A

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church means everything to me. It provides me knowledge of my Savior and His atonement on my behalf. It provides knowledge of why I am here and the possibilities I have after death. Without this life would be meaningless other than experiencing the good and bad that falls my way and just waiting until the end.

How I live my faith

I have been an active church member for the past 48 years and have fulfilled many callings ranging from positions in youth and adult organizations. I have also served on the Stake High Council and in the Ward Bishopric.
