Hi I'm Jim

I grew up in California & met my wife in Utah. We raised 5 children in Nevada where I owned a construction company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My twin sister Jan, and I, and two other sisters were raised by our single mother. When I entered the Air Force they told me I had moved 35 times in 18 years! I met and became close to my dad, his wife and my other two sisters when I was 18. After serving my country in the military, I moved to Utah for work. I was really impressed by the guys I worked with who challenged me to read the Book of Mormon to understand more about the Native American Indians that Columbus found in North American 1492. I came to understand that I was a child of God, and there was a plan, I was baptized. It was at this time I met my sweet wife and married her. Now over 40 years later, with six married children who have blessed us with 20 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I lived twenty years of my life without any directions or purpose. When my fellow workers invited me to learn more about the Gospel Plan, I was thrilled to understand that I'm a child of God, and that He sent me here to earth to decide who I would follow. Previously I tried living life with my own rules, then I started living a God fearing life and was much happier. I know that Joseph Smith at the age of 14 did pray as he learned in the Bible in James 1:5. I also believe that God and Jesus Christ instructed Jospeh Smith to restore the Gospel as was set up anciently with priesthood power and authority. I have faith, hope and prayers answered. I am eternally gratefully for the Savior's atonement and I look forward to kneeling at His feet.

How I live my faith

After baptism and marriage I was thrilled to be a husband and then a father. Our baby son was born and we were so happy! As our children continued to be born over a fourteen year period, our family grew and our desire to attend church to be strengthened was richly rewarded. We both were involved with our boys in scouting and all four accomplished the requirements and became Eagle Scouts. Our family enjoyed reading the scriptures and learning more of Heavenly Father's Plan both as a family and as individuals. Our daughter excelled in the Young Women's Program. All our children are college graduates and married their spouses in the temple.
