Hi I'm Ali

I'm the fourth of five kids. I call Texas home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Danbury, Connecticut in March of 1997. A few years later, my family moved to Texas, where we've called home for the past 18 years. I grew up with 3 older brothers and one younger sister. My siblings are my best friends, and I can't imagine growing up without any one of them--they have shaped me in so many positive ways as I have become an adult. My parents are two of the most loving people on the planet and I hope to be like them someday as I raise a family of my own. After I graduated high school, I started college at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, where I am studying now as a sophomore. Being at BYU has been the time of my life. Meeting new people, learning in class, and becoming more independent are only a few ways BYU has had an influence on me becoming more of who I am today. When I am not at school or with my friends, I will most likely be cooking or shopping. I hope you enjoy hearing why I am the way I am, and why I feel so lucky that I have a testimony of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I simply cannot live without the constant companionship of my brother Jesus Christ. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 8 years old, and even at that young age, I could not deny the feeling of peace and joy that comes with the Holy Spirit. Since that day, I have felt Him with me in all that I do, and I know that I am living on this Earth because Christ personally died for me. Knowing more and more truths of the gospel has only made my commitment to it stronger. I live the gospel of Jesus Christ because my life would be harder without it. We all go through trials and make mistakes, but because I know I am a child of God and that He has a plan for me, the heartache I feel in this life isn't as bad. Learning and studying Jesus Christ's life has made His example of charity very clear to me. I want nothing more than to be like Him and dwell with Him and our Father in Heaven with my family one day.

How I live my faith

Because I live in student housing for my university, my congregation at church is filled with young, single adults. I always enjoy meeting all these people and finding common ground with them through attending church meetings and activities. In the past few months, I have fulfilled a position as a co-chair of the activities committee for our congregation, which consists of the first floor of my apartment building. Social activities are a big part of the lives' of college students, so it has been interesting and exciting to plan activities that are fun and uplifting for my peers. My goal and hope is that these activities will not only help people to have a good time and relieve their stress, but also cater to people that might need a friend or an extra source of support and love in their lives.
