Hi I'm Jonah

I am from Sacramento, California. I am preparing to serve my mission in the Lima, Peru West Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play and watch all kinds of sports, especially basketball and football. I am the oldest of 5 children and am currently a Sophomore in college. My favorite sports teams are the Arizona Cardinals and the Sacramento Kings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the opportunities it gives me to serve Him as well as my fellow man. I follow His gospel because I love the spirit it brings to me and my life. I can see how different my life would be without the church, and I never want to be in that place in my life. This gospel means everything to me and it affects me in every single way. It affects the way I interact with my friends and family. It has changed how I go about work. I am able to actively be a disciple of Christ no matter where I am or what I'm doing. I'm not perfect, but that's what the church is all about. It isn't made for perfect people, it's made for people who want to be perfect.

How I live my faith

I am in charge of teachers during third hour in my Young Single Adult Branch (congregation). I also teach there. I am a hometeacher and try to attend as many church events as I can.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe that the Bible is the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. However, what sets us apart from other churches is we don't believe that our loving Heavenly Father would stop speaking to His children. That is what we believe the Book of Mormon to be. We believe it to be the word of God to His children just like the Bible. The only difference being the Book of Mormon comes from a group of people who lived in ancient America. The Bible and Book of Mormon compliment and strengthen each other and serve as two different testaments of Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
