Hi I'm Rachel DeMann

I grew up in Utah. I love spending time in nature with friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play soccer, my whole family does. I love going to sporting events with my family! Football games are my favorite! I also love the outdoors! Being around water is always a plus. I have kayaked down many rivers which is a blast! I love hiking in the beautiful mountains of Utah. I am a student at UVU. I love vacations, whether its a short trip to Southern Utah, a drive to California, or all the way to Costa Rica! I've had opportunities to combine vacation and service in Mexico building homes. It was an amazing experience so I ended up doing it twice!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had a witness that this is the true church. I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church). From a young age my parents began teaching me of Christ and of the book of Mormon. I began to grow a testimony as I read the scriptures and gained the knowledge for myself. At age 8 I knew the church was true and made the decision to be baptized a member. My testimony of this church only grows stronger and stronger as I read the teachings of the Prophets. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God to translate the book of Mormon. That because of him the gospel was restored so that we could have it here and now. I know Christ lives and suffered for each and everyone of us. I know Christ is my brother and loves me. I know we have a loving Father in Heaven that we can return to if we choose to follow the plan he has for us. I know there is life after death and that we can live with our families forever. I know the Book of Mormon is true, I have felt the Spirit testify of its truth. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church on the earth today with the whole truth.

How I live my faith

Often how I get involved in the community is through my ward. We plan service projects to help the elderly and those in need. My family often trys to find ways to serve others. We have helped at the food bank delivering to those in need. I got involved in a service club while I was in high school called Interact, a younger version of Rotary. Through that club I was able to help with many service projects and end with a big project in Mexico to help build homes for those who needed them. Through my ward I have made so many friends. I have come to love my neighbors and their children. I have been called as a missionary for our church to serve the people of Italy. I will serve for 18 months sharing the gospel and doing service.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Rachel DeMann
Most Missionaries pay for their own mission. I will be paying for part of my mission and my family will help pay the rest. Paying for it yourself makes the mission that much more rewarding. Missions are a time of service and forgetting yourself which as a result can help you to know yourself better. I will be teaching of Christ and our Heavenly Father's great plan of Salvation.
