Hi I'm Gary Scarbrough

I'm an Army veteran, owned a Heating and Cooling business, and am now retired. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Southern California and loved surfing as a teenager. I then got into car racing and that has continued to be my passion throughout my life. Shortly after I married, I joined the Army and served in Germany as a Helicopter crew chief. When I got out of the Army, I got into commercial refrigeration and became a journeyman. I eventually opened my own Heating and Air Conditioning business which I turned over to my son after 28 years. I am now retired, but still love cars and racing and have recently gotten into "off-roading" in my Jeep.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't join the Mormon church until I was 32 years old. When I heard the missionaries tell me about the Saviors plan for us, I wanted to have it in my life. Since joining the church, I have stopped smoking and drinking and using marijuana and it has made me feel free. I have appreciated the youth programs for my children and the interactions with other Mormons has enriched my life. Being a Mormon has given my life purpose and a goal: to be worth to return to the presence of my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by treating everyone as I would want to be treated and as God would want me to treat them. I value my integrity and try to be honest in all my dealings. I love this life I have been given and try to live it in a way that I can return to my Heavenly Father when my life on Earth is finished. I pray often for guidance regularly attend church services to help me each week.
