Hi I'm Dara McAllister

I grew up in Iowa in a family of eight. I am a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I live in Janesville, Iowa with my parents and four of my five siblings. I go to school at BYU-Idaho. I am majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Currently, I am working on my mission papers. I also work a part time job at the local gas station. In my free time, I like to sew, knit, sleep, and sped time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. So far in my short life, I have gone through my own personal hell and have touched heaven. I know that soon, I will once again be in hell. I know that whenever I am in hell, that my Heavenly Father will provided a way for me to escape. I am nothing without my Savior and His love for me. I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel is true and that it is led by Christ Himself. The people in the church are not perfect and will mistakes, but the gospel principals and doctrine are true. I am a Mormon because I love being one. I am a happier person when I follow the gospel. I am more willing to help others and be cheery when I read my scriptures and pray daily. I am a Mormon because that is me. I know that this church is true and that it is lead by our Savior, Jesus Christ through a living prophet. I also know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet that restored to gospel back to the earth. I know that I will be able to live with my family after this life because of the sealing powers in the temple. I look forward to the day when the Savior comes back to this earth. I know that the Lord has a plan for me and no matter how hard I try, his plan for me is the plan that I should follow and the safest way back to Him. I know that I will stray form the path. I am only human, but because of the gift of my elder brother and Savior, Jesus Christ, I will be able to come back into the presence of my loving Heavenly Father and Mother. I am a Mormon because I chooses to be.

How I live my faith

I do my best to fulfill my calling which is Gospel Doctrine teacher. I also try to make sure that I am living the gospel in a way that those I am around can tell. I have had many co-workers ask about my faith because of the way that I act at work. I have even had co-works tell me to let them know if they ever offend me. I have noticed, that when I try my best to me a faithful member, the more the people around me see this and act differently around me.
