Hi I'm Samantha Goates

Lone (Park) Ranger at Timpanogos Cave Texas Lone Star Missionary Cheesecake and Wanderlust Addict Most importantly: I'm a Mormon

About Me

Avid love for anything to do with cheesecake, moose, piano, and nature. National Parks are my jam! I work as a seasonal Park Ranger at Timpanogos Cave National Monument. Vacations are to consist entirely of chasing National Park Passport stamps and Junior Ranger badges. I've got a serious case of wanderlust - starting out with wandering to Texas to be a missionary for the next couple years! Just graduated high school and can't wait to lay the foundation of my adult life serving the Lord. In school, I was way too involved for anybody's good: SBO, Class Officer, Theatre President, Shakespeare Team, Productions Company, Ballroom Dance, Madrigals, Seminary Council, International Baccalaureate Diploma Recipient. After I get back from my mission, I'm going to be a superstar. Meaning, goals include earning a PhD, raising a family, and traveling the world. Avid believer in "Happily Ever After" through following the gospel of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I wouldn't be dedicating my life to serving the Lord if I didn't know that it was one hundred percent true. It's more than one hundred percent true: it is THE truth. I was raised as a Latter Day Saint, but I stick around because I have my own personal testimony. I gained this testimony through small manifestations of the Spirit through years of following the commandments. My main goal in life is to follow the Lord, and I know that this church is His church. He is at the helm.

How I live my faith

Some people think that the church requires a lot of it's members, but honestly, the church and following the commandments are seriously the easiest way to live life. When I follow the commandments and participate in my church duties, I'm living the way Christ would. I pay tithing, go to three hours of church weekly, study scriptures and pray every day, participate in service for others, and strive to become like Him. Currently, I'm a missionary. That means that I've volunteered a year and a half of my life to serve God wherever he needs me. He assigned me to Houston, Texas. I'll be in a missionary training center for a few weeks to learn Spanish and how to be a missionary, and then I'm off the invite people to come unto Christ. I have to leave behind everything: family, friends, phone, scholarships, everything. But it's so worth it. I will help bring more of God's children to a knowledge of Him and there is nothing more exciting for me.
