Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in the Midwest. I am a student who loves statistics and history. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been an avid learner. I loved school and was very involved in speech/debate, theatre, jazz band, and academics. I grew up with three brothers. I've lived everywhere from large cities and metropolises to tiny farm towns. I will attend college within the next two years and hope to be a statistics major. I love camping, creative writing, swimming, and public speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the LDS church, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that I really started to understand what that meant. Through experimenting with personal prayer and reading the Book of Mormon and Bible, I chose to believe these are true. My testimony grew gradually over the years. Of course there were several moments when I had powerful, overwhelming experiences that testified of Christ, but I've found that the most important experiences that led me to believe in the Church came through quiet, everyday acts of study and prayer. There was one period in time when I experienced hardship and started giving up on my faith. That was difficult and heartbreaking. Nothing felt as sweet as when I came back to the truth of the Gospel. Once I had a reason to turn to Christ, my faith and understanding of Him grew exponentially. Now, I've devoted my life to Christ and to becoming the person He wants me to be.

How I live my faith

In the past, I was a youth leader in the church youth program for teenagers and taught 4- and 5-year-olds in my congregation. I will serve an 18-month mission and use that opportunity to teach and do service for others.
