Hi I'm Rebecca

I was born in California, moved around a lot, and lived in Utah for almost a year for college.

About Me

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am from California. I was born into the church but wasn't baptized until Feb 2011. I was taught about the gospel but my family became inactive as we moved around a lot. Fortunately for me, I landed in an amazing ward that brought me back into the church and was then baptized. My life has not been easy and I have had many struggles and trials that are so numerous I can't count them all but those trials are nothing compared to the many blessings in which I have been blessed with in my lifetime.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a member of the church? I have been to many of my mom's family's churches every since I was younger. I am a curious child and so I have also researched different cultures and religions. I was born and my parents taught me about God but I never really KNEW Him. Today, I can happily stand before anyone and say proudly that I know God. The reason why this church resonates with me the most is not because my parents told me it was right but because I knew that God was right. The God in which most people speak of is a mean and horrible God. They depict him as those I would read about in Greek Mythology and when I look at Gods in mythology I think of them as worse beings that humans. That is NOT what God is. God is so loving and forgiving and when you come to the realization of how much he loves you individually and wishes the best for you then you will start to truly KNOW God. He is not hateful or evil. He is our father and like any good father he wants us to be happy and if you don't have a father figure like me then take comfort in knowing that you have one. You have a father. A PERFECT father and he loves you so much that you brain would explode if you tried to fully understand his unconditional and beautifully true and just love for you.

How I live my faith

I have been through a lot in such a sort time here on Earth. Sometimes it feels as though people look at me as a "success story" but what they need to know is that everyday is a struggle for me, some more than others. That being said, I live my faith day by day. Yes, I look at the big picture and everything in the long run but I live my faith day by day. Sometimes that is all we can do but as long as we can give our 100% everyday then we are doing our best. Some days your 100% might be someone else's 50% but as long as it's YOUR 100% then everything will fall into place and through your faith in the Lord you will reap the blessings which you sow.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Rebecca
To me, a testimony is an expression of your growth and understanding on a topic such as tithing, family, faith, trials, etc. The holy spirit is the great teacher and through him and the guidance of the Lord we can gain such an understanding. Show more Show less
