Hi I'm Colin

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, about to serve in the Korea Daejeon mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a missionary, assigned to labor in the Korea Daejeon mission. I've grown up a member my whole life, with only a few members at my school. I like to play and watch all sports, especially soccer and rugby. After my mission I plan to attend BYU-Provo and possibly be a lawyer or a dentist. I like to listen to country, pop, and alternative rock music. I enjoy serving others and I love to spend time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and I know that the church and it's teachings can provide me with eternal happiness. If you ask me, there's no better way to live life than what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches; the gospel or Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I want to become more like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I know that I can do so by living the principles that Christ teaches. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I know that by the Spirit testifying to me of it's truthfulness. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and I know he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and I know that because of him, the church is restored today and we have the Book of Mormon. I know that families are forever and I know that God places us in our families so that we can be happy and we can grow and learn together. I love Jesus Christ and that's why I chose to serve a mission. I want to please Him and help others know of the happiness that I've experienced as I've lived the gospel. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and I know that because he suffered for my sins, I can repent and be forgiven. I know that Christ knows how I feel and that He's felt all of my pains and afflictions and frustrations and I know I can lean on Him for help and strength. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and that he gives us guidance and direction to overcome the problems of this world by revelation from God. I'm a Mormon because I know where I go after this life and the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me direction and structure in my life that I couldn't get anywhere else. I'm Colin and I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I do a lot of little things on a daily basis that help me live my faith. I pray several times each day and I make sure that I read my scriptures everyday as well, which helps keep me in tune with the Spirit and it helps me avoid the temptations that Satan throws at me. I avoid going to activities or events which may promote things which are contrary to my beliefs. I strive to give my full diligent effort to everything that I do and I strive to make sure I follow through on commitments that I make. I try to find opportunities to share what I believe with others, which I find comes up when I'm being an example of Jesus Christ, striving to live the beliefs that the gospel or Jesus Christ teaches. I often get opportunities to serve at church, as my dad and I have been assigned to visit with other families at our church, to make sure that they are doing well and that their needs are met. For example, my dad and I have had several opportunities to help a widowed woman with lots of yard work over the 4 years we've been assigned to help her. But, these are a few ways in which I live my faith.
