Hi I'm Grace Graham

I've grown up in Utah. I aspire to be a leader in the aerospace engineering community. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 18 years old, almost 19. I love to hike, explore, and rock climb. My favorite book trilogy is The Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit. My favorite movies to quote are Fantastic Mr. Fox, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and essentially any Marvel movie. I love comic books, I love studying books, and I always crave more knowledge. I'm currently studying Henry D. Thoreau's Walden and finding so many little hidden treasures. I love watching TV shows like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Modern Family, Sherlock, Brooklyn 9-9, and Parks and Recreation. I grew up in a family of brothers, two older and two younger, so I love shooting, boxing, rough housing and "playing in the mud" so to speak. My friend group consists of four boys and myself, and they're all serving missions around the world! I'm serving an LDS mission! I'm called to Omaha, Nebraska. After I serve the wonderful people in the mid-west United States, I'll attend Utah State University and get a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Aerospace, and it's been my dream since I was a kid to explore space and the cosmos! Science and exploration of the unknown are my passion, and I can't wait to see what the Lord, my God, has in store for my future.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the Mormon church, but I haven't always believed fully in the church. As I've grown up, made mistakes, and felt the weight of the world weighing down and always pressing and confining me. With all of the sorrow and loneliness I felt, I needed a little sunshine and happiness in my life. I realized that the solution to my doubts, feelings of emptiness, and darkness was sitting in front of my nose! When I read in the Book of Mormon, when I pray, when I serve the people around me, when I remember how much God loves me personally and when I know he has the best in store for me, everything hard in life becomes a little easier to endure. The happiness, the hope, and the love this church brings to my life personally is only one reason I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As I prepare to serve an LDS mission, I'm consistently trying to be kind to everyone I meet. I love people, all kinds of people, and I try to serve everyone I meet. Even if it's just a smile, a kind word, or a compliment, I try to brighten people's day like Jesus Christ would. I sometimes teach lessons on the Mormon gospel to a huge class of single young adults, most of whom are older and more experienced than me, and in college! It's definitely a learning experience.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Grace Graham
Men and women are not created equal. We're different. Women are different from men physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Because of this, men and women have different roles. Yes, women cannot hold the priesthood, but that in no way means we can't participate in the priesthood, be blessed by and through the priesthood, and use the priesthood to the fullest extent, and in that sense we are equal. We just have different roles. Show more Show less
