Hi I'm Jackson Fisher

I was born and raised in Chandler Arizona and I have been called to serve in the Oregon Portland Mission.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the LDS Church in the Oregon Portland mission. I grew up the youngest of 4 children in my family. I've always loved music and have done 6 years of trumpet playing and 2 years of choir. My favorite things to do are pole vaulting, longboarding, and enjoying the company of friends. I've also enjoyed being a Chickfila kitchen employee for 2 years.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church and in a great family has helped me realize how very blessed I have been and how I owe all of it to God. I know that as I continue on this path of following Jesus Christ I continue to blessed every day. This pattern of living has helped me to become very happy and motivated to bring others into this gospel as well. Growing up in schools with relatively low LDS populations I've always had to act with integrity to keep my personal standards. For me that has meant not being the popular guy and being careful what kinds of situations I put myself into. Although it has not been the easy route by any means, I've always known that it's been the best path for me and has yielded the most blessings and happiness as a result. I know that if I keep continuing on this path I will one day return to God with honor.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church, I've always done my best to be a role model for my peers and for the youth. I do my best to attend every meeting im asked to, and volunteer my service whenever the opportunity arises. I've had the opportunity to be in several leadership positions in the youth growing up and learned alot from it. My life has been so blessed by God and I feel that the best way to show gratitude now is to serve a 2-year mission spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and devoting all of my time to serving and teaching.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jackson Fisher
Our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and so his goal is to help us return to him. Because we live in an imperfect world, there are two obstacles that keep us from doing so: sin and death. When Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sakes and rose the 3rd day, he loosed the band's of death and made it possible for each of us to live again. This free gift that Christ gave us was a selfless act and makes it possible for us to have our bodies again. Before the crucifixion of the Jesus Christ, he went into a garden and there he took upon himself all of the sins, pains, and weaknesses of all of God's children. This act completely fulfills Heavenly Father's desire for justice and mercy. We are imperfect and Heaven is a perfect place, so Jesus Christ sacrificed himself and made it possible for us to overcome sin. It's impossible for us to really understand how this works, but we know that he did it out of love and he did it to fulfill God's plan. Jesus Christ is our advocate with the Father and it is through his Atonement that we may return to live with God again. Show more Show less
