Hi I'm Braun

I live in a rural town in northern Utah. Right now I am serving a full time mission in Mexico City Mexico.

About Me

I played football for two years in high school until I had a serious shoulder injury while weight lifting. I had two surgeries and sat out for the next two years. I have worked in a cabinet shop for four years doing finish work. Over the past year and a half I have been learning app development and have a app published on the apple app store. App development is something that I really enjoy. When I get back from serving my full time mission I hope to go into some field of technology and keep going on apps.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my love for and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that he was sent here by our Heavenly Father who loves all of his children here on earth, and that he died to redeem all mankind from their sins. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows us each on a personal level and who desires that we will turn to him in order to receive his blessings. I know that he has a plan for all of us to return to him and that this plan has is being brought to pass right now through the restoration of the gospel. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he was instrumental in bringing to pass the restoration of Christ's church on the earth today. Without my testimony, I would feel lost. But because I have it, I know that the possibilities for happiness are limitless and if I am faithful I will be able to return to my Heavenly Father and Savior one day.

How I live my faith

For the past year I have been, along with another member, a youth teacher for the 11 year old boys at church. These kids are amazing and such a great example to me. I love getting calls from our leaders saying that there is a service project somewhere and they need my help. Its great to serve all of the people in my town.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We believe that baptism in a essential ordinance to enter into the Kingdom of God. We also believe that baptism must be done by the proper priesthood authority. This proper authority was lost to the earth during the great apostasy (the time between the death of Christ and the restoration by Joseph Smith). Therefore, there were hundred of years where millions of Heavenly Fathers children lived and died without this ordinance that would allow them to return to God. So, we do these ordinances for them in the temple by doing proxy baptisms, where a person is baptized for someone who as since passed away, so that, if they choose to accept the ordinance, they can return to live with our Heavenly Father.
