Hi I'm Kendra Ek

I am from California. I am the youngest of 10 siblings. I have been called to serve in the Ukraine L'viv mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised Mormon and I've loved every living second of it. I come from a large family of 12, not including in-laws. I have 8 half siblings and 1 full sibling. We are a perfect example of "yours, mine, and ours". I can't imagine growing up in a family any other way. I've lived in California my whole life and have recently moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University. I love the ocean, the mountains, and all of God's beautiful creations around us.

Why I am a Mormon

If I had not been raised in this church, I don't know where I would be today. The Gospel of Jesus Christ points my life in the right direction and guides all of my decisions. Being raised in the church can make it seem like I didn't have a choice to join this church. But growing up in California, you have to make a decision for yourself if you want to actively be a Mormon by the way you live. At my high school, the Mormons could be spotted a mile away and everyone could tell who was a member of the LDS church. It could have been so easy to not go to church, read my scriptures, or live a Christian life. I choose everyday to follow Jesus Christ and to live His gospel. It is because of His love and my Heavenly Father's love for me that makes me want to live in a way that would express my love for them. Religion can be so complicated but I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of the simple and complete happiness that I feel everyday. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lived and died so that I can become whole and live again with my Heavenly Father. Because of God's plan, we can live with our families forever! It brings me to tears knowing that I can be with my best friends for eternity. I know that The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ translated by a humble servant of the Lord, Joseph Smith. This book gives me so much direction and comfort in my life. I love being a Mormon. It gives me incomprehensible joy and I cannot imagine my life without it. I am so excited to share this beautiful gospel with the people of Ukraine.

How I live my faith

I love being a Mormon!!! I love going to church every Sunday and feeling the peace and happiness that it brings my soul. I try to serve in every way that I can because that is when I feel closest to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Even when I am helping set up chairs for a meeting or volunteering at a local store, I feel uplifted and I feel more love in my life.
