Hi I'm Dave Atkinson

I was born and grew up in Idaho. I have a wife and five children and I am a Mormon

About Me

I graduated from college with a degree in journalism, worked for several newspapers. Then I worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 37 years. My wife and I have raised 5 children on an acre lot. We have over 30 fruit trees and a big garden. I have enjoyed community service on several local boards and commissions. I like to be involved in my community and my church.

Why I am a Mormon

My life centers around the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is where I can find peace when I am in need and it is where I can help others when they are needy. It has always been a source of strength for me. I have no doubt that there is a God as I can feel his presence when I study his word in the scriptures and when I talk with him in prayer. There is a warm and filling feeling I have when I am living my life helping others and living it as God would want. I just know deep in my soul that truth is found in the church. I have seen too many miracles in my life to deny it.

How I live my faith

I enjoy helping others and getting to know many people. Every year we host a neighborhood party in our back yard. We enjoy entertaining others and sharing what we have. I have worked many years with the Boy Scouts of America. I have also participated with local organizations in working to improve my community. I have also served in our church in many capacities especially working with young people.
