Hi I'm Emma Bucknum

I'm a student, I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always loved helping people. I am currently a student and I'm studying behavioral science. Something I love to do is Family History work. I spend most of my free time on a computer seeking out my ancestors. In High School I played tennis and spent my time with friends. We did just about anything we could think of. My family has always been at the center of who I am. Through them I know I'll always have a circle of best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a young girl, I just went to church because that's what we did. I didn't know any other way- it was just what it was. As I got a little older I noticed that some of my friends didn't do the same things I did. Their lives were different. My parents never pushed me into going to church or doing what Mormons do, I always had my choices. I remember once I was invited to go to a party that would take place on Sunday so I asked my Mom if I could go. She of course said that I was old enough that I could choose for myself. At that moment I decided that I need to choose if this "church" thing is something I wanted to do. It was up to me. I said a little payer in my heart and I knew that this church is the true church and that I would be blessed if I would go to church. This Church has higher standards than the rest of the world, because it is God's church. God's commandments are never changing. He has set the bar and it is up to us to keep the commandments, regardless of the world's changing views and opinions. As I strive to keep the commandments, and I repent when I mess up, I am blessed with peace and joy. Through the atonement of Christ I receive strength and I can feel of God and Christ's endless love for me. I know they are real. I know that this is the only church on the earth with the fullness of the truth. Christ is the only way that we can make it back to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have had various opportunities to serve in the Church. Some of the things I have been able to do include leading music, teaching family history work, or helping to involve everyone in activities. Through these things I have been able to find joy in getting to know other people and in learning more about myself.
