Hi I'm Ron

I am a retired attorney. After retiring, I taught American law to law students in China for three years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been happily married for forty-four years. We have eight children. Before we sold our home in order to pursue volunteer work, we had a hobby orchard with about forty fruit trees. We also enjoyed gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. At that time, I was invited to pray about the Book of Mormon and to ask to understand it and to ask whether it is a true book of scripture. My prayers were answered, and I have been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since then. All of my experiences -- professional, family, and church -- confirm what I know by the power of the Holy Ghost, namely, that this church is the only church with God's authority. I consider God's commandments to be a protection rather than restrictions, and attempting to follow these commandments has been a great blessing to me and my family.

How I live my faith

My wife and I have found that through serving in our church we gain more than we give. One service opportunity was assisting with an addiction recovery program. We learned that people can change and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides both an enabling power and a healing power to overcome addictions and their consequences.
