Hi I'm Christie

I'm a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, crafty, I love theatre, I love pretzels, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student at BYU-Idaho, I havn't decided what I will major in yet but I am considering becoming a physical therepist. I am currently serving as a sister missionary in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission. Back home I worked at Michael's Arts and Crafts store for 4 years and my favorite activity to do in my free time is to scrapbook. Ive made several for my grade school and high school years as well as gifts for friends and family. In high school I was in every play all 4 years except for one because of an inappropriate scene the play had. Acting and a little dance is definitely one of my strong suits, I love to dress up and to perform on stage, in a show, or just in front of a crowd. I am the 6th out of 7 children in my family and best friends with my mom. I love reading, Harry Potter is a favorite of mine, my favorite snack is pretzles and I absolutely love making chocolate chip cookies!! My favorite TV show would have to be Once Upon a Time because of my love for Disney. After the mission I plan on going back to school for the fall and tentatively major in Physical Therapy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. A scripture from the Book of Mormon comes to mind on how I believe, it's found in Mosiah 4:9 and it reads, "9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.10 And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them." That scripture has helped me a lot when I have felt the most alone. I know that God is always with us, He sent His only begotten Son to this earth so that we could live again. He has blessed each of us with the light of Christ in us to share with one another. I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost and the p romptings I receive from him daily. I know they are of God and influe ce me to do good and only good. That is how you know it is the Holy Ghost speaking to you, when the prompting is to help you do good things. I love this gospel and I love that we have the exact same gospel here on the earth as Jesus Christ himself put here. I know that as we heed to the council of our living prophet here on the earth today and study the good word that our lives will be blessed and we will become the person our Heavenly Father would want us to become.

How I live my faith

I set my standards high and not only be a part of, but live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I strive daily to become more like Him by applying each Christlike attribute to my own life and trying hard each day to be an example of righteousness. I try to share my testimony of Jesus Christ through my positive attitude and smiling face! It's comforting to know there is life after death and that families can be together forever. I am so incredibly grateful for my two loving parents who were married and sealed in the temple so that I can one day see and live with my whole family together again. All of this is possible because of our loving Savior, even Jesus Christ. He is selfless, humble, full of love, patient, the ultimate and perfect example for us. We must try our hardest to become more like Him and to come to know Him as our Savior. Our living prophet here on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, said, "I promise you that you will one say stand aside and look at your difficult times and you will realize that He was always there beside you". I love this quote, and it is so true. Jesus Christ loved and died and lived again so that we will all live again. I know this to be true, His life and ministry was to show us how to be and his death was to allow us to repent, or be forgiven of our sins, and for us to love again. I know how powerful the Atonement is, I have seen it work in my life and because I let the Savior in when I needed Him most, I have become closer to Him. By confessing and stopping our sins, we become more connected to our Savior and understand how much He truly does bless our lives. I am so grateful I can be an example of the believers and stand for what is right. I encourage you to do the same and to become more like your Savior. I invite you to use the Atonement through daily repentance and acceptance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in your life. I can promise you that you will be blessed and you will see miracles in your life.
