Hi I'm Kim Ellis

I'm a Mormon, born and raised in Idaho! I served 21 years in the United States Army, serving around the world.

About Me

I served this great country in the United States Army, retiring after 21 years of active service. I then joined a Police Department, retiring after 18 years of service. I have a double degree in Political Science and Russian History. I've coached soccer and girls volleyball for over thirty years. I love woodworking, building treasure chests and caskets. I also love being outdoors, camping & backpacking.

Why I am a Mormon

The church's stand on moral values and the family is what brought me back into activity. Being sealed to my eternal companion and children for time and eternity is a great blessing and comfort. Just knowing that we'll be together again lends purpose to our lives here on this earth. Prayer serves as a direct connection to our Heavenly Father who loves us and stands ready to help us with our problems if we'll but ask. I have a deep and abiding testimony of the power of prayer. I have turned to the Lord continually during my life and have felt His love and comfort in my times of need.

How I live my faith

Having traveled around the world I've experienced the truthfulness of the gospel in many cultures and countries. It is very humbling to find the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints to be the same all around the world. The gospel of Christ and His message is true no matter where you are! I have worked with the youth of our church in many capacities, most recently as an 11 year old Boy Scout Leader.
