Hi I'm Kennedy

I'm inquisitive and animated. I love to read, run and learn anything I can. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Houston, Texas but spent most of my child hood in McKinney, Texas (a suburb of Dallas). I have an older sister, a twin brother, and a younger brother. I am currently enrolled in Brigham Young University at Provo with a major in Business Management. I love to read, eat, and spend time with family and friends. I hope to be able to travel later in my life and experience different cultures and perspectives. I am excited to go on a mission in the upcoming year!

Why I am a Mormon

No other church hasn't given me so much spiritual insight and lasting happiness as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When I listen to the teachings of the church, read the Book of Mormon and Bible, and pray to God I am filled with such undeniable clarity of its truth. Though I was raised a member of this church, I continue to be an active participant because of the testimony I have gained in the past few years. The principles of this church encompasses the meaning of love and forgiveness. When I listen to the words of church leaders, I am filled with the warmth of truth. Through this church, I have come to see things in an eternal perspective. I have come to see my trials as blessings. I have come to know that my Savior is beside me always and I can always put my trust in Him. This gospel supports curiosity. In this church I am encouraged to ask questions on anything I may doubt with the understanding that I will be able to gain answers. I am taught that I can receive guidance for myself and that I can know the trueness of God through keeping the commandments. I am a Mormon because I know this is where I can become my best self. I am a Mormon because this is the way to return back to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to continually lead a life that will bring me closer to God. To me this means being diligent in my daily prayers and scripture reading as well as attending all my church services and activities throughout the week with vigor. This also means aiming to embody the attributes of Christ. I try to show kindness, patience, understanding and love to everyone. This can be manifested in small, simple acts such as complimenting some one, asking how their day is, or attentively listening to a person in need. By working on obtaining traits of the Savior, I can more fully serve myself and the people around me. I live my faith through keeping the commandments, especially when it is difficult. I know that keeping a pure and wholesome life can help me be in tune to God and allow me to receive blessings. I also know that putting God first and understanding that he loves all of us can help me gain joy. I live my faith through constant action and understanding that living a Christ-centered life is the only true way to everlasting joy.
