Hi I'm Anika

I grew up in a small country town. I am currently majoring in Linguistics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sophomore in college, majoring in Linguisitics and considering minoring in art. Growing up, my four younger siblings and I would have adventures in the forest behind our house. I enjoy spending time by myself, thinking about life or reading. I think animation is amazing, especially Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon, and Disney. My college notes are covered in doodles. I love learning about different languages, cultures, and times through stories and in real life. I'm excited to learn more about Brazilian culture and the Portuguese language as I begin my mission in November.

Why I am a Mormon

God, our Heavenly Father, is real. He listens to our prayers and He truly cares deeply about every aspect of our lives. I learned this by praying to Him when I was little, and the overwhelming love that I felt allowed me to keep learning more about Him and His gospel in spite of self-doubt and trials. I learned about the Holy Ghost, who comforts and testifies of truth. I learned about the Atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ and how through Him every unfair thing will be made right. I feel so strongly of His love that I cannot doubt His word. I am a Mormon because of the love I can feel pouring in from every side--from my Heavenly Father as I pray, from my Savior in my trials or in any circumstance, and from my family as we love and serve each other as Jesus Christ taught.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the youth in my ward who are sophomores in high school on Sundays. I help prepare lessons with another woman in my ward. I also visit some of the women my age (just out of high school) to check up on them and provide service once a month.
