Hi I'm Kirstyn

I love to travel. I absolutely love smiling. I am a soon to be missionary in the Philippines Manila Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent high school graduate from the class of 2016. My future plans include serving as a missionary in the Philippines Manila Mission. After which I will be attending college, although, I do not know what I plan to study yet. I am in love with learning about other cultures and languages, and with that love, have plans to travel around the world. My favorite instrument is the piano, and I love almost all genres of music. I love spending time with my friends and family, my favorite of which is spent laughing together. I enjoy writing about my thoughts and experiences, so keeping a journal is extremely important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has been the main and one thing in my life that has been a constant source of JOY in my life. I have been a member my whole life, but I will say that my entire life has not been an easy venture in that subject. My parents were divorced when I was six years old. Growing up, I have gratefully been able to live between both of my parents in the same town. My dad has always been a member of the LDS church, while my mom has been a member of the Catholic faith her whole life. This brought on its own set of differences and trials when growing up, but what I want to emphasize is that I always knew the gospel was true through thick and thin. I could have chosen to believe in the Catholic faith, but the teachings found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the spiritual experiences I have had throughout my youth would never allow me to deny that the LDS church is the true church of God. It was particularly hard to have a parent with different beliefs than me, but even in the midst of this, I have come to see my experiences as blessings more than anything else. I saw the difference the true gospel of Christ can make in a person's life. I saw that when you feel you are at the lowest point in your life, the Spirit and the teachings of the Savior's love for you, combined with His Atonement, can bring you back up into the light. I see NOW that in His church we can become complete and that you are NEVER alone, and I continually see the beliefs of His teachings becoming known truths for others and for myself. What a blessing that is. Now, I cannot fully describe everything that makes this gospel the center of my life, but I know that it is, without a doubt, the true gospel of Jesus Christ and a loving Heavenly Father restored through a modern day prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that its teachings are for everyone, and I know that through the Holy Ghost, anyone who earnestly seeks for truth will know for themselves of its realness and sincere design.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am preparing to be more worthy to be a called sister missionary. I do my best to do this by praying, reading my scriptures, and studying missionary materials daily. I do not have any callings in my ward at the moment, but love participating in the programs they have for young adults. I have had the opportunity to give mini devotionals preceding our activities during the week, and even got to be a substitute teacher for a daily morning scripture study for the youth. I have been able to make many new friends in these programs and opportunities, and because of that, have gained new knowledge and insights into the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
