Hi I'm Erin

I grew up in Arizona. I'm going to be serving the people of Arkansas. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 4, 1 sister and 2 brothers. I grew in a household were the gospel is so strong and our bond with each other is unbreakable. I use to play a ton of sports, that was my favorite thing to do. It was my dream to play college soccer but due to some unfortunate injuries I had to quit. The lord had a different plan for me. Now I will be leaving to serve a mission for 18 months in Little Rock, Arkansas and I couldn't be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon? Luckily I was born in the church. So I have grown up my whole life learning about the teachings of the savior. When I entered High school, my parents told me that it was my decision whether or not I want to live by the teachings or stray from the straight and narrow path. There were times in my life were I could have left the church, I could have ignored the promptings of the spirit, I could have stayed with my "not so good" friends. But I didn't. I chose to stay on straight and narrow path because I want happiness, I want more in this life, I want peace and joy. I don't want to live with guilt or sorrow for the rest of my life. That's why I am Mormon. Not because I was forced to but because I chose this path for me and there is not one second that i regret my choice.

How I live my faith

My family and I are very involved in the community. We run a youth football league and we have been doing it for almost 7-8 years now. We meet people from different backgrounds every year. We don't just care about the football or the game its self. We care about the people and how we can impact those who are stuggling. We reach out to those families who desperetley need help but can't find it. I have had several callings in the church. I have been beehive president, miamaid preisdent, laurel counselor, I was a sunday school teacher, etc. I love being involved in callings. It gives me a greater understanding of the needs of those around me. I feel more compassionate when I serve those around me. I am more humble.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Erin
Members of the church are not required to serve a mission. It is strongly encouraged but the savior will tell you when the time is right to serve a mission. My father didn't serve a mission and we are more active in the church than most of our extended family. We believe that serving others is serving god. So whether you go out and serve a mission or you serve those in your community or even serve your country, you are serving god in a sense. Show more Show less
