Hi I'm Chelsea

I am a sister, a friend, a teacher, a worker, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Before I received my call to serve, I was a full time college student. I was majoring in psychology and hope to pick up where I left off as soon as I return from my mission. I have taken ballroom dance classes for the last eight years. I was a part of a competitive team through and before high school. I love working with people to accomplish a goal, and this team gave me incredible experiences with that. I love art and music! I try to display my artistic abilities anytime I get the chance. I have painted and drawn several pieces of art, and I find that creating art is a soothing relaxing activity that can take my mind off of anything. Music on the other hand is just amazing! I play piano and have played violin. I love creating sound that are appeasing to the ear. I often find myself unable to express certain thoughts and feelings unless it is through music. I have a testimony of the power of music. It is truly a gift and a powerful moving force. I come from a family of nine children. I am number four. Being a middle child has given me so many unique experiences that I am so grateful for. I love my family (even though there's a million of us) and we are all so close! I look forward to the day that all my siblings are married and we will have HUGE family reunions!

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a little girl I have been taught the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Although the world constantly throws facts and logic at me and tries to tell me that God isn't real and that there is no life after death, I have always known that God is real and loves me. That belief alone is my strongest reason for being a Mormon. Life is not easy. I have found that as I struggle through life there are so many opportunities to go against the teachings of the Church. Sometimes I choose these options and sometimes I don't. I also find that every time I follow the teachings of the Church and remember that God loves me and wants me to be happy I can find happiness. I can find peace in the chaos around me every day by following God's plan of happiness for me. That is why I choose to be a Mormon. I choose happiness and peace. I choose to make my life gravitate toward God who loves me. I choose to become like him so I can spend my life with God.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. Always have, always will (at least I plan to). I currently teach a primary class of 10 year olds and that is quite the adventure. I struggle sometimes to figure out how and what to teach them because they are so smart! All around me every day there are so many temptations to do wrong and to be a stuck up jerk. I always strive to be kind to those around me and to try to be selfless. I doesn't always work, but I always try which in my opinion is half the battle! :) There's a lot of people out there who don't even try to be good, so I'm always trying to better myself. A lot of people (Mormons included) swear and curse and take the Lord's name in vain. I have always been so conscious of this and I keep my language clean. It is a small thing I know, but it shows a certain love for the Lord that other people can see. I believe that following small teachings like that can have a huge influence on other's lives.
