Hi I'm Najla

I love crafting, biology and horse back riding. Some would call me a Potter Geek, but I'm better known as a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Austria, while my parents are Bosnian. So I speak some basic Bosnian, perfect German and I also learned English in school. In Summer 2016 I started my life long dream: Horse back riding! So I am crazy about horses and riding. Actually I have a crazy personality in general. You just have to know me - not everyone is prepared for so much weirdness. ;) Also I consider myself to be a book person, as I am always reading some book, and anything under 300 pages is not acceptable. Unfortunately I am the only member in my family, which is kinda hard but I am trying to be an example and focus on the work that has to be done on this earth. Also I am going to the Australia Melbourne Mission, beginning in November 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

In August 2015 I was baptized and confirmed as a member of the church. My way to the church wasn't easy at all, because I had to figure out, what I wanted, while I was still attached to my muslim family. As we got into a big fight, I was "finally" free and could decide for myself. I got to know the church and loved it from the very first moment. But to get a testimony and to KNOW that it is true, it still took me about 3 months.. but the day came, and I was entering the waters of my new life. I really felt how Jesus Christ wept all my sins away and how clean I was since that moment. That memory is really important for my testimony and will always be.

How I live my faith

My first calling was to represent the people at my age in the church (YSA Leader) together with a guy in my ward. Part of that was organizing fun activities which they would like to attend and even bring non-members with them. In this calling I made little birthday packages which I really enjoyed to do because obviously my only talent is doing artsy stuff. After one year of being a member of the church I am going on a LDS mission, where I represent the Lord and His church and bring people nearer to Christ. As I am a recent convert myself, I know the difference between my life as a member and a non-member. And I testify that my life is incredibly better and full of joy since I decided to follow Christ. I don't want to say that your life is magically better and that you don't have problems anymore, but it is indeed easier to live happily and have hope knowing that God is always there for you. With every day that passes, I try to be more like Jesus Christ and follow his example, by being an example to others also. There is a responsibility that I feel, to share the gospel and my experiences with other people, so that I couldn't help but follow all the missionaries that came before me and serve in the work of our Heavenly Father.
