Hi I'm Maddie

I'm a runner. I enjoy people. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6 kids. I run cross country and track in college and I love it. I'm constantly seeking adventure and opportunities to spend time with those that I love. Food is from heaven and I eat lots of it. I throughly enjoy music of basically every type. I hope to someday travel the world and do humanitarian work. I also hope to be a life coach and assist those around me work through the hardships that we all face and be the happiest that they can be!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up as a Mormon and I'm so grateful for it. Growing up, oftentimes I just went to church and participated in activities because my parents encouraged me to. But I also felt that the things I was learning were good and true. As I've grown older, my knowledge and understanding has also increased. As much as my parents want me to be Mormon, they would support me in whatever path that I choose because they love me. Having said that, I have chosen for myself to continue to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the rest of eternity because of the way that I feel as I try to do all that I'm taught in the church. Of course I have questions and go through trials, just like anyone in the world would. But, it's the way that I feel and the blessings that I've received through being a member of His church, the only church on earth containing the fullness of the truth, that keeps me grounded. It rings true with my inner soul and it brings me happiness, comfort, direction, peace, love, and all other good attributes that you can think of amidst the hard trials that life brings. It literally has everything good contained in it! And that's why I have chosen to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In the past year, I've gotten the chance to go on a humanitarian trip to the Dominican Republic where we taught english and helped build a medical clinic. It taught me so many things but especially how to more fully love, serve and appreciate the little things. I've also had the opportunity recently to be a counselor at a girls camp for young woman 12-18 years old. It was a wonderful opportunity to not only help them recognize God in their life and see their worth, but it also strengthened me in the same way! Currently, I help coordinate making sure that each young adult women in my area gets visited by other women once a month. Although sometimes it may be a little bit of a hassle for everyone amidst our busy lives, I feel that we each need love and time because we're all going through the same journey of life (which oftentimes is really difficult) and that that's one of the most valuable things we can do with our time.
