Hi I'm Kylie

Born and raised in Utah. I love writing, reading, and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of six kids. I love music, have since a very young age when my mom started me taking me piano lessons. Since then, I have learned to play violin and guitar and I love it. I love theater, specifically musical theater and I've had the fantastic opportunity to be in multiple stage productions which is an experience that I will never forget! I love hiking and the outdoors- Nothing can compare to the beauty and the majesty of God's creations! I prefer laughing to crying, unless you're laughing so hard you're crying :) I love reading and learning, and teaching. I will soon be serving an 18 month mission in Columbus Ohio, and afterwards will be studying Elementary Education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS faith in UT where the predominant religion is LDS. Growing up I kind of just relied on my parents and their faith and testimony, but over the years I've relied less on their testimony and developed a testimony of my own. I know that the church is true because I've studied and prayed and found out for myself that the principles taught are true. I know that God exists in our daily lives and has His our best interest at heart and truly wants the best for us. In high school I went through humbling experiences where I felt like the world around me was falling apart, and that no matter what I did everything just seemed to get worse. I felt broken down and tired and was losing hope that things would ever get better, but even in the depths of my sorrow and grief I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, was there for me. I know that He is there for me, and for all of us, if we turn to Him. I love this Gospel and I can't ever deny the Spirit that I've felt and the experiences I've had that have served to strengthen my testimony.

How I live my faith

The best way that I live my faith is through the service and kindness I show towards others. I don't necessarily have all the time to go out and participate in huge service projects, because life doesn't always allow for that, but daily I try to focus on the little things. A smile, a compliment, a helping hand. I find that the little things can sometimes be the biggest. And although I'm nowhere near perfect, I try to do a little bit better each day.
