Hi I'm Jamie

I love youth leadership, adventures, and people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Florida, and later moved to Alabama, however, my true home is Las Vegas, Nevada. While it has been coined as "Sin City," I was raised in a wholesome household with a morally upright family. While I am the only member in my family, I love my parents and my older sister dearly. They have taught me to be the best version of myself possible, and I do that by challenging myself. For ten years, I challenged myself by being active in student council. My senior year of high school, I was elected student body president, and I made a promise to myself that I would stay active in youth leadership even after I graduated. Now, graduated from a magnet school with training in media communications, I attend the University of Nevada, Reno, studying communications, and I work with different high school and middle school programs to teach them leadership skills. I love life, and I love to love!

Why I am a Mormon

In the Book of Mormon, the word "joy" is said 137 times. I have gained a testimony of the joy that comes from being obedient and living His commandments. To live a life as Jesus Christ has shown us is to live a life of pure joy! We are all faced with trials here on this earth, and one of my greater trials is my struggle with clinical anxiety. Many worldly things cause me to feel uneasy and stressed out, but I am grateful for the one thing in this world that brings me true peace and comfort: the temple. I am am a Mormon because life is more meaningful and more beautiful when seen through The Gospel. A quote by David A. Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, reads: "The gospel of the Savior is not simply about avoiding bad in our lives; it also is essentially about doing and becoming good." Because of Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice, we not only can go from bad to good, but also go from good to better. His sacrifice is not only for sinners, but also for saints. Through the Savior, I can always be better, feel peace, feel comfort, and be joyful, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I am PROUD! I am grateful to have come to know the truth of The Gospel, and I am grateful for missionary work! Currently, I serve as a ward missionary, and it is a beautiful opportunity I have to help others discover Heavenly Father's love for them, and that this is God's church. I see my potential in the church as being like a dandelion. I have grown my own testimony and faith of The Gospel over time, and I am now at a point where I can plant those seeds with others, and do my part in sharing The Gospel. It is no coincidence that missionary work is literally compared to planting seeds in peoples' hearts. It takes only a little initiative, a little breeze in the air, to move seeds in all directions. I live my faith by extending love as the Savior would, and sharing my testimony and light with others.
