Hi I'm Rick

I am a native Utahn. I have been in fruit farming my whole life. I am a Mormon through and through.

About Me

I am a member of the baby boomer generation, born in 1953. I grew up playing tennis, church softball, basketball and anything else I could do. I served a mission in Central Japan. After serving I came home and married my wonderful wife. She was the mother of two kids. They were adopted by me and sealed to us. We had three more of our own. Through illness she was taken from us. I met another special woman. We married and raised her three kids and my three kids. I love to watch all BYU sports, Jazz basketball and tennis matches. I enjoy being politically informed of events in my country. I love to plant trees on my farm and watch them grow. I love to have all of my family members learn how to work and appreciate horticulture. I have been a member of several horticulture related boards. I love living in Utah with the four seasons we have here. Going to our mountain cabin and snowmobiling has been a fun part of my life. I went to college but never graduated. I have graduated from the college of hard knocks and continue to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS faith my whole life. Beginning as a three year old, I tried to attend faithfully all of my Mormon related meetings. Through being taught in my church classes and by my faithful mother and father, I started to receive my own faith and testimony. I decided to marry two wonderful women who would uplift me and keep me progressing in my faith. Knowing that God is my Heavenly Father is very important and strengthens me very much. It is important to my that He loves me and that I am one of His spirit children. Through His son Jesus Christ and by following His commandments I firmly believe that I can return and live with Him once a

How I live my faith

I have been a scout master taking young boys on camping trips, helping them pass off merit badges and helping them learn how to become good young men. I volunteered as a coach for Junior Jazz basketball. I hope that they learned good sportsmanship, to play as a team and how to have fun. I have taken my family on several trips to help them learn and experience the wonderful blessings of our church and country. Through my callings of home teaching and being a leader in my church organizations I have learned that faith is an essential part of my life. One of my purposes for being here on this earth is to show other people and teach them how my faith has made me the kind of person I am.
