Hi I'm Ben

I'm a Hoosier, I love spending time with my family, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Indiana and I will be a Hoosier for life. I love Indiana and everything about it (especially the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers). I am currently going to college and miss home everyday but I love experiencing this new and exciting chapter in my life. I am still unsure what exactly I want to do for a career but I also understand that that is part of the process and I am excited as I start my journey to find out! I love sports and I enjoy being outdoors. I also love to learn so I am really happy to be at college where I have the opportunity to learn so many new things each and every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Mormon church for my entire life, but that does not mean that I was never converted. Growing up in the church was a tremendous blessing to my life but there came I time when I needed to find out for myself if I believed the things that I said I believed. I came to know this over time, not necessarily in one singular moment. As I served and loved those around me, as I tried to bear their burdens and mourn with them as well as rejoice with them, as I attempted to view them as I thought God would view them, and as I tried to not just believe in the gospel but to live it in my daily life I became converted. I knew for a certainty of which I could not deny that this gospel was the true and full gospel of Jesus Christ and I knew that it provided me with a happiness that was unattainable anywhere else. It is because I know these things to be true that I not only love this gospel, but I live it too.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following Christ's example of serving others. The more I've made a conscious effort to serve my fellow beings, the more I've realized that there are opportunities everywhere to do so! Big service projects are such enriching opportunities to take part in but I've found that small and simple acts of service that can be performed in my everyday life can be just as fulfilling. As I perform these acts of service I can feel the Spirit of the Lord come unto me and it provides me with the greatest joy I can experience.
