Hi I'm Brent

I am a retired financial advisor, husband, father and grandfather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired financial advisor after a 35 year career. Have been married for 41 years to a wonderful wife and have three adult children and three beautiful grandchildren. I grew up on a family farm raising mainly potatoes (Idaho) and cattle. I was a missionary at age 19 for our church for two years and had a wonderful experience. My wife and I enjoy 4-wheeling and snowmobiling with our kids when possible. We also have travelled to other places in the world and met a lot of great people over the years. We have spent many years helping youth and young adults. We have found nothing more rewarding than helping other people and giving back..

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up and was baptized a member of our church. It was a great environment to be a part of but - as I reached my teenage years I didn't believe it was true. I thought we had a very good church but didn't have a testimony or answer to my prayers of it's truthfulness. When I was 17 I was in some real danger that would have ruined my life and Heavenly Father reached out to me and talked to me in my mind and warned me to protect me. With some other additional spiritual experiences and after very earnest prayers to Him, He answered my prayers by the His Spirit and I knew for sure that all I had been taught was true. Before then I didn't really know if there was a God in heaven but He let me know for sure and I felt His love for me. Since then I have tried hard to follow His ways and it's been a wonderful blessing to me in my life. I highly encourage anyone searching for answers to earnestly pray with faith and He will bless them and help them like He helped me. I will always be grateful and have never once been disappointed in my quest to follow Him throughout my whole life.

How I live my faith

I believe in Christ and try to live His teachings. One key teaching is to love others unconditionally. I have spent many years working with the youth in our church (teaching and activities). I went on a church mission at age 19 to Pennsylvania for two years to share what I believe. It was a great experience. I have also served in our church as a bishop working with young single adults and young married college students. There are so many distractions in our world these days that we all need to help each other find Jesus Christ and understand how we can follow Him so we have peace and happiness in our lives.
