Hi I'm Kathy

I am a Mormon and was baptized when I was 14 years of age.

About Me

I was born and raised in a little town in Pennsylvania and not a member. I attended college at Brigham Young University where I met my eternal companion. We became parents of 5 wonderful children. One of which died when she was 2 years old. Loosing our little girl was the hardest thing we have done. We are so grateful for the gospel and knowing that we can be together again is the only thing that has gotten us through this loss. Our youngest daughter, was born with Spina Bifida, and had many surgeries and challenges. At 25 she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphona and went through 2 years of treatments. Her faith in God has gotten her and us through these challenges in her life.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth of 14, I met the missionaries at a County Fair. We listened to their message and they answered the questions of: Where did we come from?; Why are we here?; and Where do we go after we die? The story of Joseph Smith receiving a personal visit from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ really touched my soul and when reading the Book of Mormon, I just knew it was true and that I must be a member. My family joined the Church in 3 different stages. First my oldest sister and then a year later, my Mother, myself and other sister joined. That fall my Father finally joined. Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the first great thing that I did in my life. Being active in Church brought us closer together as a family and we later became a forever family by being sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. I was later sealed to my eternal companion for time and all eternity. I am so grateful for the knowledge that we can be together again as not just an earthly family for all eternity!

How I live my faith

I have been on the local boards for 2 Child Development Centers, a Girl Scout Leader, involved with Cub and Boy Scouts in our community and entering items in our County Fair. I have help many positions in the Church: Teacher for children ages 18 months through 12 years of age for many years, Advisor and President of our Young Women's Organization, Teachers in our organization for sisters over 18 years of age and also president of that women's organization, Data Entry for names for research, Family History Consultant.
