Hi I'm Melly

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I'm studying to be a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an only child. That's made me sort of independent all my life. So I love to get out into the outdoors to camp and hike! I also love to dance, specifically tap dance! I've done musical theatre since I was in elementary school. So I also love to sing, and act. In general, performing is fun for me. I'm currently attending BYU to become an elementary school teacher! I know it doesn't pay much, but I think teaching is SO important. Young people are our future, you know?

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know who I am as a daughter of God. I am actually a convert to the gospel- I joined the church when I turned 18. But knowing who I am, and knowing that all people are children of God, makes me want to teach other people about the gospel! I want to give other people the opportunity to develop Faith in Jesus Christ and in His atonement. I know that I'm not perfect, so I'm grateful for an atonement that allows me to have even my worst sins washed away, as long as I apologize to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example of Jesus Christ. He is the reason for everything that we do in church after all, and He is the ultimate example of love, charity, kindness, and service. I serve as a nursery worker, so during church I help take care of the younger kids in the ward. We help teach them simple, solid doctrine such as that our bodies come from God, and that we should pray for things we like. Like our food, our families, and Jesus! It really helps me understand that we need to be humble and willing to learn, our as Christ says "become like unto a little child".
