Hi I'm Nikenzie Faber

I was born and raised in Provo, Utah. I am currently attending Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been interested in a variety of activities. I love to play soccer and miss being on a team every day. I also play the harp. Music is one of my favorite things about life! I feel like I connect so much with music and learn so much about myself and the world through listening. I wish I had enough money to attend more concerts! I love going to school. It might sound strange, but I love doing homework and studying and attending class. Learning is my jam. I also love people. Every person is so individual and special. Whenever I feel down it helps to remember that there isn't a single person that is exactly like me, and I think that's significant.

Why I am a Mormon

Sometimes people have questioned my beliefs because it seems to them something that is intangible or unprovable. For me, I have had experiences that are very real that I cannot deny that have testified to me that there is a God and that the LDS church is His church. I cannot deny what I have felt and experienced. To do so would not be true to myself and what I know, and when I am not acting with integrity I seldom feel happy. As all people on the Earth, I have struggles and trials. Sometimes these struggles have felt like they would overcome me, but through Christ I have been able to overcome them. Although there is never an absence of trials, there is also never an absence of Christ's love and help. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I love my church because it is completely centered on the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything that the church asks of its members is designed to help us come closer to Christ, and every step towards Him is more than worth it.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a teacher for a class in my church. I love teaching because I honestly feel like the teacher learns more than the students through preparing the lesson. I prefer to teach in a way that is more question based rather than lecture based because everyone has such cool ideas and thoughts to share. I also think that asking questions helps people to learn more because questions require thought and self reflection.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Nikenzie Faber
I don't fully comprehend everything about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, but I know that He died for us because He loves us. The Atonement includes Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane where He bled from every pour and also being crucified on a cross. The word atone means "to make up for", so the word Atonement is describing what Christ did "to make up for" the sins of everyone who has ever lived. He felt every pain that anyone has ever felt so that He could have the power to forgive people of their sins, but also so that He could know our pains in order to help and strengthen us through times of trials. Because of Christ's Atonement we can be freed from the guilt of sin and also find strength to overcome difficulty in our lives. The power of the Atonement is available to anyone who is willing to follow Christ. To follow Christ means to recognize that He is the Savior of the world and try to be like Him. We as humans are not perfect as Christ is, but through working towards being like Christ and surrendering our hearts to Him, He can help us become better. The Atonement was preformed by Christ because He love us more than we can understand. He wants us to be happy, and through His stripes we are healed. Come unto Christ and you will find joy and peace even in trials. He knows and loves everyone that has ever lived. He knows and loves you. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Nikenzie Faber
The power that God has trusted us with to create children is immensely sacred. Life is sacred, and the creation of life is given to us to help us find fulfillment and happiness. The family is central to God's plan of happiness for us. Because of the sacredness of life, God commands us to not engage in any sexual activity that is outside the bonds of marriage between a man and woman. This commandment helps to safeguard the sacredness of life, increase individual's peace and happiness, and promote happiness and love in families. In the current culture of the world, sexual activity outside of marriage is increasingly viewed as not only acceptable, but desirable. The views and practices of the world are continually changing, but the commandments of God are certain and steadfast. God's commandments are given to us as a guide to a lifestyle that will bring happiness. The way God asks us to live will always lead to happiness. Breaking the law of chastity is a very serious sin, but forgiveness is always available through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
