Hi I'm Sydney

I'm a graceless dancer, I'm a practiced procrastinator, I'm a lover of pizza and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest and only daughter in my family of six. I'm currently working towards an undergraduate degree in International Studies. Growing up, my family moved around a lot, and that's something I hope to be able to continue to do. I love meeting new faces and seeing new places. We live in a beautiful world full of some really good people and I intend to experience all that this life has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon Church, as were my parents and their parents before them and their parents even before them and so on. For this, I am infinitely grateful. I love the gospel and I am so thankful to have grown up in a home where prayer was a regular thing, a home where we read the scriptures together as a family, and a home where my parents taught me of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Now just because I grew up Mormon, does not mean that I never had questions nor experienced doubt about my religion. Being Mormon is a choice, a conscious and willing choice, and its something that I choose every single day. Ultimately, for me it all came down to one thing: If Christ truly lived the life that I had been taught that He had lived and if He had truly suffered and died for me, that would be a sacrifice worth doing all that I could do to repay. I mean really, that's a big deal. I had to decide for myself what I believed to be true and whether or not I would be a Mormon. The conclusion I came to? Jesus Christ was not just some biblical character that performed seemingly impossible, miraculous acts. He is a real being. He lived on this earth as an example to us all of how to love and do what's right and be happy. He suffered all the pains of this world and sacrificed Himself so that we would have a way to fix things when we mess up and return home again to our Heavenly Father. God and Christ both know us and love us and will be a part of our lives if we are willing to let them in. There is so much to be gained from learning of our Savior. I know that by reading the scriptures we can become closer to Christ and to our Heavenly Father. Prayer can bring peace to our hearts and direction to our lives. Call me crazy, but I trust this heart of mine and my heart tells me that these things are true. I can not deny the things that I have come to know. I bear witness of the reality of my Savior and of the many truths that I have learned from being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith everyday in everything that I do. I live my faith by being kind to others, by helping those in need. I live my faith by being honest. I live my faith by sharing with others what I believe to be true. My faith and beliefs have brought me happiness and that is something that I can not keep to myself. Recently, I have been called to serve as a Spanish speaking LDS missionary in the Albuquerque New Mexico mission.
