Hi I'm Aubrye

I'm a student at Brigham Young University preparing to serve the Lord in San Diego. I love my Savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Aubrye and I was born in Provo, Utah. During my fourth grade year, my dad accepted a job offer to work in Sydney, Australia. I spent the rest of my time in elementary school and Australian "high school" (middle school) living just outside of Sydney. I love to travel, and have enjoyed visiting countries such as Thailand, Fiji, and New Zealand. I love learning about cultures. I have three younger brothers and two awesome parents. We love to ride bikes, go on hikes, play at the beach, watch movies, make treats, throw the football, and play games together. Currently I am a student studying Elementary Education. Education is something I am passionate about and I can't wait to learn more! I especially love my family and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so excited to be serving a mission to teach others about Christ and his love!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up Mormon my entire life. I have always loved attending church and learning more about the gospel, especially Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and believe in the Book of Mormon. My parents both grew up in the church, though my mother was less active for awhile. My grandfather is a nonmember, and my other grandfather is a convert. He converted while attending Brigham Young University on a tennis scholarship! The gospel of Jesus Christ means so much to me. It brings me hope, comfort and peace in a sometimes scary world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep the commandments and by following For the Strength of Youth! It is a pamphlet put together by church leaders about the standards that Heavenly Father has for his children. I also live my faith by participating in church callings. I have lead many service projects and church events, such as when we collected supplies for refugees. This past semester, I accepted a calling as a gospel doctrine teacher. I taught weekly lessons by sharing scriptures and personal experiences and by discussing certain topics with the other people in my class. I am now living my faith by serving a full-time church mission in San Diego where I get to teach others about Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is awesome! It is wonderful to draw closer to Christ by following his ways. Living the way Christ would brings me true joy. Because families are the central part of God's plan, Mormons focus a lot on family. I love to spend time with, laugh with, and learn with my family. In turn we draw closer together and closer to God. When you're Mormon, you don't just go to church on Sunday and call it good. Being Mormon is the reason for everything that I am and do. Show more Show less
