Hi I'm Sally

I'm a happy, Utah-bred musician-in-training. I'm currently serving as a full-time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a full-time mission, assigned to serve in Taipei, Taiwan. After my mission, I plan to continue getting a stellar education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I love studying English, Mandarin, Book of Mormon, and Music. I have been a performer all my life; I sing, play violin, and act. I adore musicals, plays, and concerts and they have been a great way for me to share my love of the LDS church and it's teachings with others, both on and off stage. My all-time favorite musical is Fiddler on the Roof. I also love Chinese culture and have studied Chinese in different programs for 6 years. I even got to visit Beijing, Weifang, and Qufu China to study and tour! It's a dream come true to get to use my Mandarin to share the gospel on my mission. Some of my dreams and plans for the future include completing my LDS mission, getting a degree in music education, traveling in Europe, learning another language, getting married, and starting a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not just LDS because I was raised in the church, though I'm grateful I was. My belief in this gospel has grown through numerous experiences of feeling Heavenly Father's love for me, which is constant, deep and real. I have received the answer for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the Book of Mormon is true scripture, the word of God. I know that God knows me perfectly and has a specific role for me to play in this life. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that because of His Atonement I can be free from the guilt and punishments of my sins when I repent. This gospel is important in my life because it is the source of my strength, my hope, and my solace. There's a lot wrong in the world, but because of the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I know that there will always be hope of a better world to come, and peace until then.

How I live my faith

My responsibility in the church right now as a full-time missionary! For 18 months I'll spend all day every day meeting new people and teaching them about my beliefs with my companion. I volunteered to be here and pay my own way- but it is such a blessing to be sharing the gospel I love! I get to help people feel God's love and learn what they need to do to be happy for eternity. It's so amazing! It is a lot of work to be a missionary, but I know God is helping me and strengthening me. My past responsibilities include visiting some of the lovely women in my neighborhood as a visiting teacher, where we would chat and visit; being an online missionary where I shared uplifting messages and reached out to friends on social media; and as filling different spots of leadership in our youth group presidencies. We met for an activity every Wednesday night and the presidency of youth and leaders would plan those activities. Some of my favorites we planned include an Iron Chef cooking competition night, girls' camp, a service activity for the homeless in SLC, and an LDS movie night. I also live my faith every day by trying to share my happiness and by encouraging those around me.
