Hi I'm Kayla

I grew up in Lewiston Idaho, I love music, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

As I mentioned before, I love music. I lettered in band and marching band and loved playing the flute. I also enjoy playing the piano. I started taking lessons when I was 7 years old and then I became a piano teacher at age 15. I learned so much about myself and my 13 piano students. I loved every second! I was born and raised in the outdoors so I take every chance I get to get out in the mountains with my family to camp, trail ride, and hunt. The outdoors are a beautiful and peaceful place to take a break from this busy world. I attended Brigham Young University-Idaho for a year before receiving my mission call. I am studying dental hygiene and plan on attending Utah College of Dental Hygiene when I return from Mexico in a year and a half.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I am a Mormon and belong to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is because my church requires work and action from me. It makes me accountable. Not just once or twice, but all the time, every day. I am not going to lie, it is hard sometimes but I know I am doing my Heavenly Father's will. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the term "Mormon" is more than a name or tag. When I call myself a Mormon that means that I am willing and able to follow the example set by our Savior Jesus Christ and take upon His name. I am a Mormon because when everything else seems to be falling apart around me the one thing in my life; my firm foundation in this gospel, is what helps me get back up. I am happiest when I am living the principles of the gospel to my best ability. I wouldn't have it any other way.

How I live my faith

Right now I am attending a singles branch. I hold the calling of the activities coordinator. This means that myself and a few other board members get to help plan fun activities for the branch. Monday nights the singles branch gets together at our local church building and we call that "FHE" or family home evening night. Together my board members and I have organized a finger painting night, over-night camping/boating trips, sports night, game nights, and many more. It is a lot of fun to be able to get together with a big group of people and have a great time.
